Night Stay at Raffles Hotel

It’s my 5th year wedding anniversary and hubby book us a night stay at the Raffles Hotel Singapore. Raffles Hotel is world famous and one of the oldest hotel in Singapore. Why do I say it is famous? Because whenever I went overseas and when I was living in the UK, many times after the foreigners found out that I was from Singapore, they ended up asking me about Raffles Hotel. But even though it was ‘that’ famous, as a Singaporean I have never stay there before so I simply just tell them I just seen it from the outside. I have never even took a walk inside the premises.

So I guess it was a nice surprise from hubby to stay there and experience it so the next time when my british friends ask about Raffles Hotel, I can give them a good idea what it is like there.

Walking around all the top branded posh shops around the premises.

Grand Fountain in the premises

For how old it is, the place is very well kept and look after

The front foyer at Check in desk

Love the colonial style of the place

ME enjoying my welcome Singapore Sling Drink while waiting for check in

Not just drinks but snacks too!

The famous Singapore Sling from Raffles Hotel

Raffles Hotel is famous too for the invention of this world wide famous drink. The Singapore Sling! I personally love this drink. It taste with so many blends of fruits in it and every time when I fly Singapore Airlines, I am sure to order it.

It’s not my first time having the Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel but I must say it did taste very nice. This time is free as the welcome drink but I remembered paying about $38 Singapore dollars for it at the Hotel Bar.

This is the corridor to our room

Let me show you to my room…..

Welcome welcome to the room

Wondering how it looks like inside the room? Here it comes…

The dining area

The Sofa rest area with my playful husband waving to the camera :)

This is the outer room... there is more

Things that will get you tipsy.. lol

The entire room is quite huge. Now let’s enter the bedroom…

The comfy comfy king size bed

View from the other angle of the room

All the stuff in the room look like antique

If you are looking for a modern hotel, this is not the place. The whole room from the design to the stuff in there is colonial style. I felt like as if I am living in a colonial house and not a hotel room.

Now the enormous bathroom that is separated in sections too

I totally felt like I was living in the 50s and all the time in the room I felt like I was in another place. (As in not in Singapore)

I love the warm cosy lighting of the room

Mr Ferris & Mrs Ferris 7 years of putting up with each together... hahaa

Let’s take a virtual walk around the inside of the place more with more photos… come come follow me…

Time for Breakfast!!!

All ang mohs and foreigners around breakfast... Didn't see other Singaporeans around

The nicest person to me in this world.

I just want to dedicate the next little section of the blog to Sean Michael Ferris as it is the best thing that happened to me to have met him.

He is so caring and take cares of me so well.

He is sweet and romantic with surprises all the time even after being married for so long.

He is so forgiving with ZERO temper at all that he can ‘ta-han’ my craziness sometimes.

He is so smart and always find solution to solve my problems and give me great advise.

He is so generous and always gives me what I want.

He is so cute and never fails to make me laugh.

He is so supportive in everything I do which gives me strength to succeed no matter what.

the list goes on and on……

What I ate for breakfast which is tasteless

Dessert that looks nice but taste disappointing too.

The customer service throughout the whole stay was excellent. We even have our own butler. Staff was very polite and we are greeted everywhere we go.

BUT

The only thing I want to complain is that for such a nice hotel, the food really really sucks. The breakfast selection was disappointing and the Nasi Lemak I have is tasteless. It should have good food as since the place is mainly foreigners that visits, it should leave them a very good impression of how nice and tasty Singaporean local food is. They really need to buck up their food standard.

All in all I rate a 3.8 out of 5 for the stay at Raffles Hotel Singapore.
