New polish line Morgan Taylor is owned by the company that makes Gelish. Their site only just officially launched, yet their lacquers have already been up and down runways in New York, London, and Milan for Fashion Week. Paired with well-known designer collections like Betsey Johnson and Victoria by Victoria Beckham, Morgan Taylor lacquers are making a grand entrance into the professional market.

I am so excited when this range has been launched and is available in Singapore. OPI nail Laquer are getting far too common now. Last time OPI became famous and popular because it was a brand only sold and used in Nail Salons but now everywhere also sell. Making it so Sian!

I am searching for another range of branded nail lacquer to add in Beauty Recipe’s collection for the customers. I heard all many big nail shops in Singapore already have switch to this brand so I decide to check this brand out. The colors are not just pretty and unusual, they are thick and very shiny after application. They dry fast too. I feel they are of better quality compared to OPI and tend to last longer too since they are thicker.

Natural looking Eyelash Extension that do not break your own lashes

Previously, I have blog about an eyelash extension technique at Beauty Recipe that is so natural gorgeous looking that does not break your own lashes which is mostly all our concerns and worries when we hear from our other friend’s experience. I’m here to explain to you why our technique does not cause your real lashes to break.

I mentioned in my previous post that I am happy with the length of my lashes which is why I found someone else to be the model of my previous post to do the eyelash extension. But it is in our nature that all of us girls want look more beautiful, my heart start to itch and a sense of envy hit every time I see my customers walk out with the prefect fan shape natural looking long lashes. I was also amazed that these customers come back again and again and even their friends came and did the eyelash extensions shows how much they liked it so I am very happy about it. Since it is so popular, I really wonder what is it like and wanted to try it for myself. So here it is, this blog post will tell you of my experience of what the eye lash extension is like.

 

What is so different to the eyelash that we use? 

We use real human hair to do it! Which makes the lashes so soft and comfortable. Synthetic eye lashes are very hard. (Don’t worry, the hair are processed and cleaned. They have also been specially curled by machines too.) I have to preorder the lashes from overseas because the ones I found in Singapore are not curled enough for nicer effect.

 

Why this strand by strand type of eye lash extensions that we use better?

  • They are a lot lighter and the technique we use is by attaching the lashes on your skin like planting them and not attaching on your own lashes therefore they will not cause stress to your real lashes, therefore do not break your natural lashes
  • They look more natural as it is done by attaching different length to make the shape into a natural fan shape instead of the lumpy ones. Or like some places only cut and trim the lashes after.
  • They will last longer
  • Even when they fall out, it will not create a big hole/gap on your lashes
  • Thus you do not have to remove the entire thing or go for touch up so soon
  • They curve more so you can see them clearer and the effect look much nicer

Impress with the before and after effect? I have totally no make up on in the pictures except lipstick. This morning when I wake up, it is simply just putting on my lipstick and heading out, I do not need to spend time to put on any Mascara or eyeliner or stick on any false lashes.

I have done my market research. Very few places in Singapore do this type of eyelash extensions as they take a lot longer time, about one to one and a half hours. They are charging like $138 -$168 for this type of natural lashes and I am not even sure if they uses real hair.

The price you will pay at Beauty Recipe is $68 if you quote ‘Jessie’s myfatpocket reader’. 

I am not sure when I will stop this promotion because it is soooo super cheap.

It is important to choose a high quality product so it will not damage your lashes and eyes while it lasts for a long time before you have to do it again.

I lost 300grams easily at Slimming 101 just in 1 treatment!

I was invited to Slimming 101 which is located at Funan IT Mall today to try out a session of their Slimming treatments, which focus on TCM slimming.

They are located on the #04 floor just next to the escalator at Funan Mall

Slimming 101 is a sister company of Beijing 101 of course. Duh! Beijing 101, I am sure all of you heard of for their hair growth treatment as they are everywhere.

Slimming 101 main focus is to use the most natural method and the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to help you slim down with a healthy beautiful body from inside out.

All the staffs at there look very friendly and professional.

Form to get to know more about their customers

All the customers will need to fill up a form with their details, medical conditions if any , height, weight and focus area of slimming.

Guess how much I weigh? I also don’t know myself as I haven’t weigh myself for so long

I weigh 49.9kg and is standing at 1.64m tall. There is a slip of paper that will come out of the analyst machine to tell you all about your body.

According to the machine, I have 24% body fat which is in the average range, TBW 50.7% means I have rather high water retention, Metabolic Age is 20 which I am super proud of although I am nearing to 30 already, Visceral fat rating is only 2 out of 15 which means my organs are not covered by thick layer of internal fats. Some people may not be fat on the outside but the visceral fat is high around the organs which is bad because it will cause a lot of health problems when there is too much fats around the organs.

I wonder how the TCM doctor can tell how my body is like just by listening to my pulse?

Next, there is a private consultation with a TCM doctor of which she will feel your pulse and tell you if your body is balance and how to improve your body. I was told that my body is more to the heaty side so have to sleep earlier and stay away from fried heaty food.

They explained to me that at Slimming 101, they have different slimming treatments for different body type. They use acupuncture, slimming machines, TCM medicine, remodeling wraps and manual massage for lymphatic detox. I am going to try the lymphatic detox massage.

The equipment treatments they have breaks down fat cells, burn fat, cellulite, detox, drainage and firming.

Ready to start my treatment and taking photos of the changing/shower area.



After shower and changing into the pink robe, I am put in a infa-red sauna for 20 mins before I can start the manual lymphatic detox massage.

After a TCM acupuncture points massage to open up my lymphatic drainage system, I was put in a warm blanket to sweat it out and further detox.

After the whole treatment, I really need a shower because I sweat soooo much. The body feels very relax after sweating it out. After that, they weigh me again and I lost 300grams after the session.

Krabi a while back…

Went to Krabi with a group of awesome colleagues early last year. Didn’t bring any camera so my friends are the ones in charge of taking the photos. Haven’t got a chance to look at the photos in my dumb drive until now. Brings back the fun and laughter memories. I was in charge of organizing this trip for everyone. Maybe I should organize another one as I miss them all. We all got to know each other when we did new launch project 2 year plus ago.

I was quite new in real estate then and all these ladies are so willing to teach me so much unselfishly when I have no idea what I was doing that time since it was my first time selling new project launch then.

We stayed at the Mercure Krabi Deevana hotel which was brand new at that time. We were fed great international breakfast every morning and it was very close to the central of the city.

Rooms were huge, comfy and clean. No bugs which I hated that is usually seen when you go to some beach resort. Heng!!!

I just love the clear cool water and the sunshine :) Let me forget all the stress of work. Everyone should get away to nature and chill once in a while to get away from reality of life to relief stress of the hectic singapore lifestyle.

This is known as the Chicken Island. Seriously look so much like chicken.

Not everyone knows how to swim but well done ladies for all trying getting into the water to try out snorkeling although there was a lot of screaming and grabbing.  Hahahaha!!! We all took good care of each other throughout the holiday. That is important when traveling.

Me again in my nerdy glasses with no make up on. More food the following morning before heading out.

And of cause never miss out the SPA day when you visit Thailand. Thai Massage Thai Massage…

How to wear Korean style natural looking Make up

What I love about the korean style natural looking make up is that it looks so natural like you did not put on much make up on but yet enough to highlight the beauty of Asian features.  Most important tips for Korean Style natural make up looks is….. *read on*

Use a foundation that is one tone lighter than your skin color if you have slightly tanned skin like me, I prefer using a liquid bb cream that can blend in well with the skin. Hanskin Premium Supermagic BB cream is voted the best BB cream by the koreans and it is not for sale in Singapore. Next is the lips, for lipstick color use matt color that is very close to your natural lip color. So stay away from Red as much as possible. Use color like slight pink or orange. Now orange color lipstick is very trendy in Korea.

Next is the cheeks. Just use some light pink on the peak of your cheek bones to make like a little ball and slowly spread it out as to lighten it.

For the eyes, don’t use any eye shadow on the top lid, just use a liquid eyeliner and wink the side out a little. Under lid, use a white pearl eye liner to outline your tear line. Just use one coat of mascara only to lift the eye lashes a little, don’t use too much as you don’t want your eye make up to look too dramatic. Make the eye make up look as clean as possible.

Lastly, smile sweetly like a demure korean lady… I am sure guys will feel their heart speed increase when they see you :)

My brand new set of nails done!

I have this that was done on me 4 weeks ago removed…

(not bad woh! no chip at all after almost 4 weeks. You can see my nails grow until sooo long… Just outgrown at the base but glitter transparent base so can’t really see)

and change the new design from a elegant classy to a trendy funky design…

It’s so candy color like lollipops. I almost wanted to eat my fingers. lol… Have got some praises from strangers in the streets who noticed my nails already. :)
