Was at Tang Hong Kong Gourmet Restaurant for “Tantalising Blogger Food Tasting Dinner” earlier this month (Thanks to Verlyn for inviting!)
Located at 116 Neil Road, Tang restaurant is a 8-mins walk from Outram MRT station.
The place serves a variety of affordable dishes with no svc charge or GST!
This cream soup with celery & parsley (my favourite!) is a smooth blend that suit most people. I’m not a “creamy” person but I can accept this soup.
The Peking Duck is a hit with all of us! I don’t like leek (hope that’s what it is) nor sweet sauce but this is really appetizing.
I can have the whole serving to myself seriously.
This Coconut Milk Prawns is chewy & flavorful. Should appeal greatly to the prawns lovers who like their food salty too.
It was delicious, except a tad too salty for me.
I think C would really like this Spicy Deep Fry White Bait. Crunchy and no fishy smell. We couldn’t stop eating it.
If you have kids, you might wanna order this dish for the little ones!
Sweet & Spicy Fish Head is not spicy at all so it’s good for people who can’t take spicy food. The fish is really big for its price and tender meat, pretty worth the value, though I personally prefer my steamed fish plain with just ginger/garlic & some garnish.
Deep Fried Pork Belly is so crispy like keropok! Similar to the Spicy Deep Fry White Bait, it can be served as “fingerfood” too.
I don’t like pork nor its belly, but this is pretty fine for me
Mini Lobsters (not sure of its name) is only $9.90 per plate!
I like the taste of it but I had problem detaching the flesh outta its shell! Is it the way they cook it that affects the meat sticking to the shell or is it freshness problem? I really have no idea.
This lunch set for 2 is really value for $! Try it if you’re working around the area.
Hong Kong Crispy Noodles with Shredder Duck
I really like noodles. I really like duck meat and especially when it’s shredded. I love the portion of the meat & noodles BUT I really couldn’t eat even half because it was very very very salty for me.
This dish would be perfect if the saltiness is reduced by 70%.
Double Boil White Fungi with Papaya is a great dessert to end your meal at Tang.
Beauty dessert! And cooling for Singapore’s hot weather. It will be even better if the fungi can be softer cos I love it soft
I certainly wouldn’t mind bringing my family there for a meal some time soon! (Reminds ownself to request for less salt)
Tang Hong Kong Gourmet has a Facebook page too, you can check out more bloggers’ food reviews!
