Review: SkinMiso

Have you heard of SkinMiso? It’s Korean skincare brand that focuses on pore problems and also exfoliation of dead skin cells.

The kind people at Urban Hunter, distributor of SkinMiso have kindly provided me a complete set of the SkinMiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack plus Comedo Remover for review.

Now, let me introduce to you the SkinMiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack, just 3 simple steps to get rid of the strawberry nose that most of us have.

Step 1 and 2 are nose packs of different purposes. Step 1 will be the pack that will force the black and white heads out. Then we remove the impurities with either a cotton bud or the SkinMiso Comedo Remover. Step 2 helps in calming the skin and contracts the pores. Step 3 is the Pore Beauty Silky Essence which helps smooth out the pores.

I really liked how the smooth my nose is after using all 3 steps. The essence will make it velvety smooth!

Here’s me trying out the nose pack. Blackheads are always there on my nose and I’ve a lot. The battle with blackheads is a constant one unlike acne. I’ve tried many ways and products previously to get rid of the blackheads. SkinMiso is by far, the most efficient product I’ve tried.

Let me show you. It’s a little gross though. But the photo below shows the amount of gunk I managed to remove with first use of the nose pack.

The SkinMiso Comedo Remover comes in a cover as below which makes it more hygienic when storing it. It also have two ends to it, a wider and a narrower for the curves around the nose. The photo above shows the narrower end.

SkinMiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack is available at most Watsons stores and retails for $28.90.

The Comedo Remover is only available exclusively at Bellabox.sg. Buy the complete set at Bellabox to get a 15% savings off the complete set!

For those who have concerns of a strawberry nose, try out SkinMiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack today!

I rate it a 4/5 rating!

And if you ask if the Comedo Remover is worth getting? I would say yes as the quality is really good. I think it has to do with the thickness of the rim, some of the ones out there are too thin and it hurts when you apply pressure to the skin with it. The SkinMiso one is just nice for me, I don’t really feel pain when I’m applying pressure with it during the removing process.

Let’s get rid of those Strawberry nose with SkinMiso today!

The things about the Skin

You know, the pretty looking lady you’re looking at above with just light makeup is not born like that. (Ok, I know. Thick skin alert. Lol) Those who have read my blog back from my Onsugar days should know that my skin used to be really really horrible.

Just to show you the difference. This was back in 2010, and this is still one of the better ones. I’ve some that shows red angry acne but I’ve decided I shall not put that up. But if you do look at some of my old posts, you might be able to see how bad it really is back then.

When I first started, I gone through the mistake of putting on too much makeup for the sake of covering the flaws. Slowly, I began realizing the fact that a clean canvas is the most important thing. So from makeup, I slowly devote myself to learn more about skincare, how the skin works and what sort of products is suitable for my skin.

My current skincare regime consists of products from various brands. One thing in common, is that they are all mild and suitable for sensitive skin. I’ve learnt that my skin could not take heavy cream products as they will break my skin out. So I’ve been staying to gel/lotion type of products. One personal skincare tip I have to share is to mask every other day! :)

Skin should look good when naked. I’ve always love how my skin is now after removing my makeup. Even if I do breakout once in awhile, I know that I can manage it now.

And of course, with a clean canvas you will definitely look better with makeup. You do not have to cover up so much that you will end of looking cakey or simply having too much on the face. Less is always more.

Let me show you an old photo of mine when my skin just cleared up. Do you notice any difference other then the hairstyle?

As some of you know, I did fillers for my cheeks and nose last July and the photo with bangs is after procedures. Features are definitely more define and smaller face.

With good skincare plus aesthetics to achieve that flawless skin and defined features, you will definitely look good. And of course, makeup will further enhance your overall look!

I’m definitely happy with my current looks. If you noticed, there ain’t much changes. Clearer face, more defined features and of course slimmer as I’ve lost a little weight recently. One can definitely be prettier. You just have to put in the effort!

And of course some help. Check out Myfatpocket and Aesthetics Hub for beauty tips and articles on aesthetics and embark on your journey to find the prettier you!

Review: L’Oréal Revitalift Laser X3

20130326-202609.jpg

I received this set of Revitalift Laser X3 at the preview event held in early February. Having using it for 1 month plus already. I think it’s time for a review!

L’Oréal Paris have been doing constant research to come up with the latest technology for anti-aging. Now they have came up with Laser in a Jar after the previous IPL technology in skincare.

Don’t Laser in a Jar sounds intimidating? You mean a skincare product can give the same results as laser treatments that costs like ten times more? You might be skeptical but L’Oréal has done it once more.

Clinical studies have been done on 88 women over a period of 12 weeks. 3 sessions of lasers compared to using the whole range of the Laser X3 for 3 weeks. And it’s proven that Laser X3 have achieved better results.

The magic ingredient here is the 3% highly concentrated Pro-xylane that is in all 3 of the products in the Laser X3 range.

The Laser X3 range aims to help reduce pores i.e resurfacing the skin, correcting fine lines and rep lump the skin.

20130326-203827.jpg

This is my favorite product out of the trio, The Renewing Anti-Aging Serum. The texture is really light and the skin absorbs this really well. After application, the skin feels soft and smooth and its not greasy at all. This retails for $49.90.

20130326-204121.jpg

This is the Anti-Aging Transforming Eye Cream that comes in a metal tip applicator. When applied to the eye area, you will get this cooling sensation which really soothes the skin. After application of this eye cream, I noticed that the eye area gets an instant life and seems brighter. And I must emphasize it again that its not greasy at all. This retails at $37.90.

20130326-204435.jpg

Lastly, we have the New Skin Anti-Aging Cream. This is meant to be a day cream but its suitable to be used in the night too. I’ve been using this at night instead as I hardly use cream products in the day as it can be quite heavy for me. In fact, I have been avoiding cream products in my regime as my skin can hardly take heavy creams. However, I noticed that the texture of this cream is lighter than the usual creams out there. I would say its also one of the light textured cream in the line of L’Oréal products. This is absorbed into the skin pretty fast too but as its a cream based after all, it does feels a little oily. This retails at $39.90.

You might be asking, why am I using anti-aging products when I’m pretty young. Being 23 this year, I would say its best to start early. Also, the Laser X3 range does not only target at matured women. I would say this range will suit women from 20 onwards. Prevention is always better then cure, I do not want to wait till I have symptoms of aging to use anti-aging products.

After using this range for roughly a month, my skin have stayed firm and smooth. I used to have some super fine lines on the forehead due to frowning and exaggerated facial expressions and I’ve noticed that its mostly gone. I also did not get any puffy eyes despite the late nights.

I’m currently using the serum and eye cream daily and the cream only on alternate nights. Ratings of the products as followed:

Serum: 4/5
Eye Cream: 3.5/5
Cream: 2.5/5

The cream got a slightly lower rating as it is still quite heavy for me. I personally prefer gel based moisturizers. However, I felt this this cream will be good for those with normal to dry skin type.

Wanting to try laser treatments but felt that its too expensive? Try the Laser X3 range, the laser in a jar at a more affordable price.

Do visit http://www.revitaliftlaser.com.sg/ for more information about the range and even request for samples!

The L’Oréal Revitalift Laser X3 range is now available in major stores.

Review: Beauty Clinic 2-Step Masks!

It’s masking time!!

I was “prescribed” with a weeks worth of Beauty Clinic 2 step Masks to try out a month ago!

I’ve received 2 doses of “Whitening Smart Laser” and 2 doses of “Aqua Smart Filler” after stating that my current skin concerns are dehydration and pigmentation/scars.

The Aqua Smart Filer series would help in hydrating my skin while the Whitening Smart Laser will help lightens my scars and pigmentation.

The 2-step masks like its name suggest comes in 2 steps. Once, apply the mask ampoule all over your face, pat it lightly to ensure that it’s absorbed. Then followed by applying the mask sheet.

The texture of both ampoules is thick yet can be absorbed into the skin easily with patting. I usually chill my masks before using it and the cooling sensation helps calm the skin too if you have sensitive skin like me.

The mask sheet itself it super thin and it felt like skin on skin when you put it on. It adhere to the skin pretty well and definitely won’t fall off when you go about doing your chores while masking.

It is recommended to use this mask twice a week so technically 4 dosage can last you for 2 weeks. However, I am an intensive mask user who masks every other 2 days, which is why this is a 1 week dose for me. I alternate the mask, using the Aqua then the Whitening one as recommended for best efficiency.

After using the masks, I noticed that my skin tone is brighter overall, some of my scars do seem to be lighter too but I feel that it’s more of an overall brightening effect. My skin is also much plump up and feels less tight after using the masks.

Overall I rate these masks a 4/5 as my skin does have a difference after using it. I really like how the essence are more of a thick and slightly gooey texture.

Beauty Clinic have a wide range of masks to cater to different skin problems! Available at Sephora, BHG, SASA and selected Guardian outlets!
