CandyPlay: Poppin Cookin Waffles

CandyPlay sent me two Kracie Poppin Cokkin sets sometime back and I finally have time to get down to making it!

I’ve chosen the latest Waffles Cafe set and the Decoration cake set.

Will only be showing the Waffles set today. I want to do a video for the decoration set.

The pack consists of a tray where you have to cut out the parts to use. 4 packets of sugar powder I think and a spatula for mixing.

Making of the waffles~ It’s cool that the mixture actually smells like waffles. And it’s like play dough, if you don’t like the shape of the waffle you get, simply roll it up into a ball again and try it again till you get the desired shape and thickness you like.

Next is the dressings! Strawberry sauce, which I assumed it is as it smells like it, whipped cream and blue berries. The blue berries is a little tricky to make and you kind of have to wait for it to settle down before removing it out from the mould. After getting these done, you can start to decorate the waffles, in anyway you want it!

I made the whipped cream looks like ice cream for one and just spread the sauce over the other. Both topped with a blue berry. Not bad right. Haha.

Follow the visual on the packaging for this one. Looks pretty good no? Felt like eating waffles already?

I think these are really fun to make and I spent about 20 mins to make the waffles. But it’s definitely too sweet for me to really eat it. I had one bite and that’s it.

Can’t wait to try the cake one as I’ve to actually bake it in the oven. Maybe that will taste better. XD

Brunch out at Wimbly Lu

Happy Labour Day!!!

How did you spent yours?

It’s brunch day out with Andy, Jq and Ben today!

Cafe that we visited today is Wimbly Lu that is famed for its chocolate desserts~

Located at Jalan Riang, a short walking distance from Lorong Chuan Mrt station, Wimbly Lu is pretty easy to find as it is easily recognizable by the cute red Volkswagen beetle just outside. My dream car!

Be prepared to wait before getting a table. I was late but I think the rest waited at least 20-30 minutes before getting the table. But of course, it’s public holiday after all so it might be not as long waiting time on normal days.

The menu is placed under the glass on the table which saves time and we could immediately refer to it.

Andy did some research beforehand on what to avoid and what are the must try’s , making the ordering process a pretty quick one.

I ordered an iced chocolate drink since the cafe is known for its chocolate dishes. It’s thick and smooth! Very chocolaty*!

There’s also the Hot Chocolate version which looks really delish with marshmallows!

The Root Beer Cake is one of the must try and it is pretty good indeed! Imagine chocolate moist cake with vanilla ice cream dipped in root beer.

Next must try is the Waffles with Ice Cream! We decided to have it with the Salted Caramel ice cream as we wanted to compare it with one of Andy’s fav at another place. According to Andy, it’s on par. To me, it’s nice and fluffy and its pretty crispy. It wasn’t as warm as it’s supposed to be as we spent some time taking photos of the food. Based on that, it still retain its crisp!

Ben ordered the Carrot Cake and I loved carrot cakes! But it’s pretty hard to find good ones as a lot out there are either too dry or too sweet. This is moist and not too sweet!

I also ordered the Mushroom Soup served with Garlic bread as I have not eaten anything yet. So before digging into the desserts, must eat something proper first! This is pretty normal and goes well with the bread.

I would recommend to order some savory dishes too along with the desserts as it can get too sweet if you order as much as us. Check out the spread we have among the four of us.

Nice cafe, nice car. Of course must take the opportunity to take photos.

Onboard the Joyride! To Joyville!

One fine Saturday afternoon…

This bus came along and me with a group of bloggers decided to go on it.

Hmmm, where is this weird guy bring us to?

Oh hey! We have this sweet lady handing out chocolates to us!

A ticket to Joyville and a bar of Marvelous Creations from Cadbury! This is getting really exciting!

Reached our destination and our humorous bus hosts posed for us for some photos of the Joyrider!

In we enter to a magical afternoon of Joy in Joyville!

3 new flavors of the Marvelous Creations Chocolate bars means 3 ambassadors! We have LadyIronChef representing the Jelly Crunchie Bits, Beatrice representing the Jelly Popping Candy Beanies and Maureen representing the Peanut Toffee Cookie.

Hitting the pack each to reveal many bars of chocolates!

I was looking at them searching through the many chocolate bars. Wanted to join them but ended up eye power-ing as I was in tight jeans and tall heels which made it difficult for me to squeeze in.

This was the special chocolate bar they were searching for and there were 3 of these. But apparently there was only two in the pile somehow. So Kelvin, PR for Cadbury found the third bar and wanted to throw it in the pile for grabs. Remember I was near the pile but was just standing there? So I somehow managed to catch the bar of chocolate before it landed in the pile. Lucky lucky~

Magician in the house! We have Huron Low who performed some pretty mind blowing tricks that day. How did he managed to switched the place of a piece of card that is personalized with a piece of chocolate in a sealed pack. I’ve no idea.

The star of the day! The Marvelous Creations Chocolate bars!! Available in 3 flavors but for the small bars, it’s only available in Jelly Popping Candy and Beanies and Jelly & Crunchie Bits. The Peanut Toffee Cookie one is only available in the big bars. I personally love the Jelly & Crunchie Bits one after eating a few bars.

Then it’s photo taking time! What’s an event without cam-whoring! Here’s a photo with the funny bus host who tried to charge us for the bus ride all in good humor.

And a photo with the pretty balloons and almost empty chocolate stand which was swept away by us blogger.

Loads of photos were taken at a photo booth by Hello Stranger. But instead of spamming you with the photos we took, here’s a shot of the hard copies with the chocolates!! XD
