Genting Travelogue: Genting in a Glance

This Genting Trip is special in a way that it allow us to bond with our mums. It’s a trip specially for us and our mums. And of course, the bloggers that went on this trip also bonded quite well together! They say travelling is the best way to break or make a relationship(of all kinds) and I’m glad that I’ve only created new bonds in the Genting trip.

All this was made possible by Resorts World Genting and OMY.SG. Thanks loads! <3

I made a not so short simple video about the whole trip! Hope you enjoy it!

Genting Travelogue Sneak Preview

Hi all! I’m sure many of you knew that I went on a sponsored trip by Resorts World Genting and OMY.SG to Genting for a 3D2N trip along with 4 other lovely bloggers and all our mummies. So this post will be a sneak preview of what happened over this 3D2N trip and there will be a few more posts and a video coming up!

And like I mentioned, without OMY.SG and Resorts World Genting, this trip will not happen and all the wonderful memories will not exist. So thanks loads!! XD

Bloggers who went on the trip are :

Miyo – http://www.miyomomo.com/

Melissa – http://melicacy.com/

Shine – http://www.shinekoh.com/

Grace – http://gracevion.blogspot.com/

and yours truly me! XD

See this colorful building? It’s the most colorful building other than the theme park in Genting. Yes, it’s the First World Hotel and we are staying at Tower 2 Lv 27, World Club rooms which is the higher end rooms in First World. I love the hotel room, it’s totally awesome! Wait for my other posts for a detailed hotel room tour! :P

Our first meal in Genting was at Ming Reng Restaurant that specialized in XingJiang cuisine. Lamb is the specialty here!

Day 1 was pretty much free and easy and we had our dinner at Genting Palace Restaurant. I would say it’s the best meal I had in Genting!

We wake up as early as 7 plus to have breakfast at Coffee Terrace! Buffet Breakfast and I must say it’s a wide spread of food! It’s one of my most scrumptious breakfast ever as I occasionally skip breakfast. :P

How can we miss out the Theme Park when we are at Genting! I tried a few rides, tried to pull my mum on some but failed. ><

Then it was lunch at Hainan Express located at the Theme Park Hotel for local delicacies.

What can be more relaxing than a spa massage after a whole morning at the theme park? We had the whole place to ourselves!

Dinner at Happy Valley Seafood where we did not only have seafood. :P

Sam Hui’s Concert to end the say with! I would say our mums enjoyed it more than us since he’s more in their era as compared to us! :P We bloggers took a photo with him though! We have to wait for it to be sent to us as we are not allowed to use our own cameras.

Our last meal in Genting, at the World Club Lounge located at Lv 28 of First World Hotel. Buffet Breakfast with an awesome view of Genting. Life couldn’t get better than this.

How could we not visit The Visitors’ Galleria to learn about the history of Genting! More in the upcoming posts!

“How I miss the cooling weather in Genting!”

Stay tune to more upcoming posts and video on my Genting Travelogue!

Positively Teal

Do you know that Teal is the official color used to represent Ovarian Cancer? It’s like yellow ribbon, pink ribbon for breast cancer etc. Teal is the color for Ovarian Cancer. How many of you have heard of Ovarian Cancer? I only know about Ovarian Cancer after attending the Positively Teal Blogger’s Party organized by SCS, Singapore Cancer Society.

Ovarian Cancer has no known causes at this point of time and it could just happen to you. Trends have showed that women that are in post menstrual state are of higher risk in countries like the USA but in Singapore, even women in their twenties etc have the equal amount of risk. There is also no proper way of screening Ovarian Cancer and it is actually the 5th most common cancer that appear among Singaporean women.

Ain’t that scary? I’m very glad that I attended this event as it makes me aware of this very disease.

We have sharing sessions by Prof. Mahesh from NUH, cancer survivor, Ms Lim to share with us about Ovarian Cancer and the process of being diagnose to operation and treatments.

Many other bloggers were at the event and like me, we all only knew about Ovarian Cancer that day.

Canele have came out with a special Teal Macaroon in support of the campaign. Proceeds from the sales of the Macaroon will go the Teal Support Group at NUH. The Teal Macaroon have a mint and raspberry filling which is quite refreshing yet not too sweet. If you love macaroons, go buy these Teal ones as you are doing a good deed while getting to enjoy yummy macaroons!

KissJane is one of the sponsor for the Positively Teal campaign and they will be donating 10% of their proceeds from their “Think Positive” Collection exclusively launched on their site, KissJane.com. They will be donating a $1 for every new member sign up on their site from no till 21st June!

SBA Best Beauty Blog Finalist E- Interview

So as a finalist of SBA 2012, we are to answer a set of questions as a mini interview. So that OMY.SG can introduce us proper with our very own inputs.

So here goes… :P

1.    How do you feel about being one of finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2012?

This is actually my second time being selected as one of the finalist for the Best Beauty Blog Category. Am definitely very happy and honored to be selected once again as it meant that my blog and my works are being recognized. This means a lot to me.

2.    When did you start blogging and what drew you to it? Where do you get inspiration for your blog content?

I started blogging since my secondary school days. The more intellectual posts started during 2008. Before it was just an online journal for me to write my rants and about my daily life. I began beauty blogging in 2009 as I was always interested in beauty related stuff. Was following several beauty blogs and then I thought why don’t I start blogging about beauty too? And I started with the intention of sharing and discussing beauty related content with other fellow beauty bloggers and those who love makeup and all.

I was suffering from bad acne at a point of my life. And I wanted to share with my readers how I overcame my acne both mentally and physically through my blog. So I could say that acne is one of my inspiration for my content.

3.    How do you feel about the other Finalists in your category this year? How do you think you will fare compared to them?

I’ve known several finalists from last year and also some through events and of course there are some new faces too. To be honest, I don’t feel that this is a competition at all and I believed the other finalists to have to same sentiments. It’s more like a gathering for us beauty lovers, getting to know more about each other.

Each of us have our own unique style of writing and presenting so I believe all of us are actually on the same starting line. It does not matter who wins in the end as long as all ten of us have fun! One thing I do know is that we are all excited to organize our own spa party!!

4.    Give a reason why readers should visit your blog and vote for you?

My blog have a wide variety of content, from beauty to lifestyle. Especially for those ladies, I believe my blog posts on beauty is beneficial to all. I do only honest reviews regardless. And I’m like anyone else out there, so I believe I can relate to my readers quite well. Lastly, I’m really friendly though I seldom smile in my photos. XD

And that’s all! If you like my blog or love Baskin Robbins Ice Cream like me, vote for me or continue reading.

Thanks loads!!
