A few Saturdays back (I can’t remember when already…heh…) the girls decided to go to Illuma to try the ramen at the Ramen Champion!

They had ramen under the big names of a few big chefs. I chose Bario Ramen!
Hmm… Its good. But I still prefer the Marutama Ramen at Clarke Quay. That’s my all time favourite.

Kiyora with her choice!

The portion is huge…. The bowl is bigger than my face loh….
Couldn’t finish! Should have just ordered a bowl to share instead…

Miss Joycie~~~

And time for coffee and desserts after lunch!
Actually we went to try out something interesting in between. Will do up another separate post on that! ;p

What kind of picture is this!

And dinner and drinks with my dear Sandie after that!
A short post today!
Muacks!
Got a couple of questions on Formspring and emails regarding my permed hair and I thought I’ll just consolidate them into a post! So here goes!
1) Hi xinyi, how do you maintain your hair after the korean perm? I got my perm too but it seems frizzy. Which shampoo do you use?
2) What hair products do you use for styling?

Left: Shampoo - Kerastase Nutritive Bain Oleo Curl Definition Shampoo
“Gently cleanses the hair fiber. Provides softness and detangling ease. Hair is lightly nourished for weightless conditioning with optimal shine from roots to ends.
The Nutri-Huile complex combines shorea and palm oils to restore suppleness with cationic polymers for added softness and detangling ease. The Curl Protect technology provides a “lock-in” action that preserves nourishment, while a “block-out” action keeps humidity out.”
Right: Styling Product - Capilo Silk Plus (Oops! Can’t find any information on this online. And it doesn’t help that the back of the styling product has information that’s all in Korean.)
Just a background on my hair type: I’ve got very fine and dry hair.
My hair stylist gave me these 2 products. The shampoo will leave my hair manageable and not weigh down the curls even if you left it un-styled (I like the smell!). It really delivers the promise that it keeps hair very soft! But in my opinion, I think that any shampoo works. I still use my regular shampoo at times and I think its still fine.
I’ve got to blow dry my hair when its wet to style it. I will apply the Capilo Silk Plus before blowing and styling. Actually I love the Liese Wave Up Foam too. (My first attempt at using Liese Wave Up Foam here) It holds and defines the curls quite well.
So this is how the curls look if its nicely styled: http://myfatpocket.com/blog/xinzz/2011/07/29/my-new-hairstyle/
3) Is your hair dry after perming? What hair care products do you use?
Eh… Hmmm… actually I’ve got no answer. Due to my constant hair abuse with bleaching and colouring, and heat treatment like curling tongs and straighteners, my hair has been very dry for the longest time. I’m not sure if it got even drier.
But of course I still use hair care products regularly hoping to savage something! Hahahaha…
Some products I’m using.
- Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Intensive Hair Mask (I’m know this sounds crazy but I use it EVERYDAY.)
- Sunsilk Damaged Hair Reconstruction Control Leave-On (After bathing when my hair is still wet)
4) Do you comb your hair after washing since you have got the perm?
This is such a good question! Because I was questioning myself too! I was wondering if I should comb it like how I did with straight hair, or should I just finger-comb through to detangle.
But being very used to straight hair for so long, I found an obsessive need to comb it and so I did! I’ll comb it straight, then I’ll preoceed on with my styling.
5) Hows your perm hair now? Is it still as nice and manageable? I’m contemplating whether to go ahead to perm my hair anot coz I feel perm hair cannot beat the curls you tong yourself.
Hmmm the permed-curls and the tonged-curls are a little different. Depends on what you like.
My tong-curls: http://myfatpocket.com/blog/xinzz/2011/03/27/curls-in-my-hair/ (Hehehe… not exactly very well done though!)

My styled curls…..
They are quite manageable and I’m still loving it at the moment!
6) Does your hair look ok if you don’t style it at all? I’m thinking of getting a perm but I’m worried that I’ll be lazy to style it on some days and look like a lion.
Actually, I’m beginning to love the look of it when its totally un-styled. It looks a little messy though, but it doesn’t look so nicely-curled-sweet. I like the character that it shows!

Put on a cap and let your voluminous hair do the talking! My favourite cap/hat over permed voluminous messy hair! hahaha…

At work! Fringe is unkempt without styling (stylist permed my fringe a little for volume) so I pinned it up with bobby pins!
Yup I guess I answered your queries? Hope these helps!

I really thought that the sunset was very beautiful there! But the place is pretty inaccessible…Pretty, but inaccessible. Hahahah…
Sunset Grill and Pub’s located at 140B Piccadilly Road. I took a cab down from City Hall and the taxi driver couldn’t find it at all. I stopped outside the main entrance of Seletar Airbase and Lena drove over to pick me up. The drive in was pretty… Lots of open spaces and hangars. We were driving in at close to 7pm and the sun was already starting to set over the horizon… Beautiful!
When we reached (Oh remember to make a reservation. Inaccessible as it may be, the place was packed!), Si En and excitedly went outside to take photos!

I asked Si En to pose for me as I wanted to take a photo of her outfit. Her pants are so nice! But she got all fidgety and awkward.. hahaha! and had to pretend to be using her phone before I could take a photo. Hahahah…

That little house there… That’s Sunset Grill and Pub

Lots of them!!

Me facing the soft sunlight!

My favourite pic! It looks almost magical…
And oops… I think we spent too much time outside. We headed in to order food together with the rest of the gang.

Lena was under the weather and our Chinese physician was helping her feel her pulse. Its for real ok…

Chilli Heads Hall of Fame
Most would probably heard of their famous buffalo wings. They come in a range from Level 1 to 35 according to level of spiciness. If you try any of them from level 30 and up, you get to leave your big name behind.

The sweeties deciding what to eat.

No i’m not keen to leave my name behind on the Chilli Heads hall of Fame. I’m a coward. I ordered Level 1 Buffalo Wings while the rest tried Level 2. Hahahha… They aren’t very adventurous too! The wings were yummy!!!
What to do next? KTV!

And Melvin caught a toy from the toy-catcher machine…..
And its goodnight and bye bye time!

Left: N.M.F Aquaringer Ampoule Mask
Right: Caviar Repairing Essential Mask

N.M.F Aquaringer Ampoule Mask
Increases hydration to reveal softer and smoother skin. Balances sebum production and tighten pores.
Each mask contains an entire bottle of concentrated ampoule!

Caviar Repairing Essential Mask
Hydrates, nourish, revitalize and renew the skin. Use it to achieve radiant skin!
Usage: 2-3 times a week, 15-20 mins for each application. Do not leave the mask on for longer than the advised time, because reverse osmosis (bringing you back to your sec school science lessons a little.. haha..) will occur. Not just for this mask, but for every other type of masks.

Can you see how soaking wet the mask is?

Leaders Clinic Mask is made of silk cellulose and hence fits snugly on the face. The mask is very thin and allows the skin to breathe easily which will help in the absorption of the highly concentrated essence.
Remove the mask after 20 mins and pat the essence and let it absorb into your skin.

Skin is really very radiant, firm and hydrated! Feels smooth to touch!
Paiseh I had to try to use my big glasses to cover up my dark eye rings… heheheheh….
I really love these series of masks. The effects are visible and immediate and my skins feels really pampered. You can join Leaders Clinic Facebook Page to get updates on their products and promotions, and where to purchase them. They are having a giveaway contest on their Facebook Page now! Do pop over to join!

So what do I do after I have nice nice skin! Make up and go gai gai!!
XOXO!

Knowing that I love Yogurt ice-cream, Sandy sweetie brought me to Swirl Art after our meal at Bugis Junction! Its just in that little street filled with eateries opposite Mos Burger.

Wanted to rush inside the moment I saw the deco of the shop. So cute and pretty!

The inside is divided into 2 sections. Head in to the little door there and there are more seats there, and the toppings buffet bar for the yougurt ice-cream’s there too!

Settled down and started exploring how to go about ordering it….
How to order? Here goes…

Sandy is going to choose her ice-cream flavour!

I’m boring… I only like it in original.

half a cup will do!

Oh btw, if you managed to hit 100g, 200g or 300g when you take your creation to weigh for paying up, your creation is 100% free! So if you are lucky enough you are going to get the yummy ice-cream with your favourite toppings free! So who’s lucky????!! Sandy! She hit 300g accurately!!! haiyo lucky girl!!! one big full cup some more!

My creation…. boring original flavour, with some marshmellows, cornflakes, and sugar rice. No fruits added. Not exciting like Sandy’s. But I’m loving it. So pretty too!

Love it so much that I’m going to eat the paper cup too!

Average mood: Cos I didn’t get it free.

Very happy girl: Because she got it free.
Muahahahaha….

The exact address for you!
Yesterday night, I mentioned in passing over family dinner that I haven’t ate Chicken Biskit for years. It used to be one of my favourite childhood late night snacks!
Guess what I saw on the dining table today?

My mum went to buy it for me!
Parents love us unconditionally, take notice of the smallest details, and give us the best that they can.
Haven’t felt the same way for very long. I’m glad I’m back home after the 3 long years…
Thanks Papa and Mama…. I love you all too!
Here comes the photos from the shoot a few weeks back! The 3 photographers sent me many photos…. Just sharing some of them here. You can view the full album from their Facebook albums! Took a cab down to meet the 3 photographers at National Museum!
I was early so I went to the cafe inside to museum to have a coffee n a mushroom quiche!

Babelicious photographer Jeni!
Before they shoot me, I must shoot them first. Right? Hahaha…

My half eaten quiche….

What is this? How to use??

Waiting for the sun to go away a little before shooting. Shoo shoo!!
Halfway through the shoot….

Why are photographers so camera shy?!

as sweet as the flower!

and lastly… my platforms that murdered my feet….
I’ll post photos from the shoot in my next post…

I’ve received emails asking me about the eyelashes that I’m using but I’ve been really busy to do up the post although I promise to post it by this week. Give me another week ya? Sorry babes!!! Promise it will be out next week!
We went for a dinner and some drinks to celebrate the girl’s birthday!
I’m soooo forgetful that I can’t remember the restaurant’s name! The one just outside 313…. what is it?

Jinx……

The birthday girl!

and a very stunned Melvin…
I’m pretty amazed by the way his Fish and Chips is served. It’s so difficult to eat when your food is being served in a basket!
But according to Jinx, it seems that this is the norm in (I can’t remember which country)…..
I need tonic for my brains la… any reccommendations?

While waiting for Lena and Su Woon when they were chatting with a friend that they bumped into……
I captured this classic photo~~~~~

Ice Cold Beer??

Jinx massaging for Lena! Does that face indicate pain or pleasure?!!
Anyway Jinx’s really good with the massage. Don’t play play… He’s a chinese physician!

Here hence the “扮鬼脸” competition commences….
Contestant 1:

Miss Lena
Contestant 2:

Miss Su Woon
Attempt no.1

Attempt no.2
And the bill came at the wrong time…. Muahahahah….
Contestant 3:

Mr Jinx
Attempt no.1

Attempt no.2
its pretty obvious Jinx won hands down…..
And we eneded the night with some pool!!

I nearly won. I was at the last black ball. Then… my white one went in with the black one!!!! Argh!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been planning to do a post on Kele’s new home but I haven’t got around to doing it up, but I think I should! He’s finally happily settled in here!
A few photos of Kele and me that I took a few weeks back before I head out for my movie session!

Kele always smells good….

Kele looking a little sleepy!

Top: Blogshop
its actually very long and its over my knees. The back is longer than the front and I had to cinch it with a belt and pulled it up the the length that I wanted. Like it quite a bit!
shorts: BKK
Loving my round little Kele lots!
It was the time of the year for the bloggers to gather under one roof for the blog awards ceremony! I was very happy to be invited because I know its not just another awards ceremony, but its a time to catch up with friends again!

Its held at Shanghai Dolly this year and the theme is “History Gets Social”!

Vivian the pretty girl who came as a Shanghai doll! How appropriate! The dress code was to dress up as any historical figure… You should really take a look at her partner. He came wearing a postmen cap, just like a Shanghai newspaper boy or something. Super matchy matchy…

Ju Ann and her partner happily snapping away!

What’s a party without good food!

Cai Shen Jiang with Guest-of-Honour Mr Chan Chun Sing. Eh… nobody shouted “kee-chiu” though…

A very entertaining play! Spot familiar figures?

With sweet Joey!

Picking out the best dressed!
Really awed by dblchin’s effort! She hand made her Pocohontas outfit from scratch!

The winner goes to her!

Very happy to meet Andy from Sengkangbabies!

And HP from Hpility!

It was a wonderful and laughter-filled gathering and and would really like to thank OMY for organizing! You people were great!!
Hey babes… I’ll make you “sit” through my random nonsenses first before i give you the contact! Heh!
This week is a super busy and tiring week at work. But I’m really glad that I’m working night instead of morning on Friday. I’m not exactly a morning person (refer “About Me“). Its more than 12 working hours everyday from today to Thursday and being someone who needs a lot of sleep doesn’t help! And I’ve been saying that I want to catch up on my posts, but see la, till now, I haven’t done my Blog Awards post. It will be the next one, must. There are still so many other stuff to catch up on.
Anyway, Fiona brightened my day with this!

Its for doing French tip! She knows my recent obsession with nail stuff!

My current nails! hahaha… simple one!
Anyway…..
