After the worrying train break-down issues, which resulted a good friend of mine and many other commuters having to walk through the tunnel of cityhall station and ended up 2 hours late for our dinner which is 10mins train ride away from her office, I would have thought that finally we can see the light when SMRT remains problem-free for a couple of days. Alas, the recent week was spent being “stranded” at cityhall interchange, missing 1 to 3 trains before I can “squeezed” myself into the packed trains.
(I hope this is NEVER gonna happen)
Some may have heard, or rather, seen my rants on facebook. Forget it if I can’t get a seat for my ride from Tampines to Orchard or foreigners hogging the priority seats when there are elderlies standing within their sight. What’s disturbing is when you see young singaporeans who didn’t give up their seats whether they are wide awake, or fake being asleep.
Of course, there are still a number of considerate people who automatically stand up to let the elderly/pregnant passenger have the seat. But, the number seems to be decreasing.
What’s happening, people?!
There are also many occasions when during the morning peak hour, some commuters knowingly/unknowingly occupy far too much standing space with their newspapers, causing the other commuters to pack themselves together like sardines and didn’t even have the inch of space to even stand in a less contorted position.
Well done, selfish commuters! Reading news is important, so are you - a pain in the ass when you read in a frigging crowded train.
I really hope I will keep cool & NOT shred those papers to pieces!
Alright, I am kidding. But you understand what I mean.
There are some plans for Singapore to reduce the inflow of foreigners. Good, in the way that we can breathe better. Bad, cos it means more $$$.
